Humanist Academy Berlin-Brandenburg
The Humanist Academy Berlin-Brandenburg is the association's own study and education centre that promotes scientific and philosophical debate on fundamental questions about nature, mankind and society.
In its humanistic approach, the association assumes that people can lead a good life together - in a self-determined and responsible manner. The Humanist Academy Berlin-Brandenburg carries out its own research projects and supports related research projects. It networks academic work on the theory and history of humanism as well as research on the connection between humanist practice and its reflection.
As an educational organisation, the Humanist Academy Berlin-Brandenburg organises academic conferences for the general public and
organises seminars and training courses tailored to the needs of the association's staff, for example on humanist education and counselling.
The academy regularly creates opportunities for managers and interested parties to critically reflect on their work.
The Humanist Academy Berlin-Brandenburg relates fundamental questions of a modern humanist self-image to current socio-political issues.

The employees of the Humanist Association Berlin-Brandenburg are involved in various committees and working groups in Berlin and Brandenburg. There they gain work experience outside the association. They also engage in networking and represent the interests of the association as delegates, for example

- in the Berlin Advisory Council for Family Issues,
- in the Berlin-wide alliance against homophobia,
- in the alliance for a cosmopolitan and tolerant Berlin,
- in the alliance for values in education in the state of Brandenburg,
- the umbrella organisation of Berlin's self-help contact points,
- at Gesundheit Berlin-Brandenburg e. V.,
- in the Initiative Pro Ethik in Berlin,
- in the Berlin State Poverty Conference,
- in the State Youth Welfare Committee,
- in the Landesjugendring,
- in the state network for civic engagement,
- in the Association for Social-Cultural Work,
- in various specialist groups under the umbrella of the Paritätische Wohlfahrtsverband in Berlin and Brandenburg, and
- in district committees such as the child and youth welfare committee or the working group under Section 78.
